Refund policy
If it is not for you, ask and we will refund it.
Free is a full plan, so you never have to pay to find out whether the app works for you. If you do buy Pro or Commercial and it turns out not to be what you needed, this page says exactly when we refund, how to ask, and what happens next.
01What we refund
Write to us and we will refund the charge in full, no questions asked, in any of these cases.
- A first purchase, within 14 days of the payment.
- A renewal you did not mean to keep, within 14 days of the renewal charge. We cancel the subscription at the same time.
- A charge that should not have happened, for example a duplicate order or a plan you had already cancelled, at any time.
- A plan the app cannot deliver: if a paid feature does not work on your PC and we cannot fix it with you, we refund the current period.
Outside these cases, fees for time you have already had on a plan are not refunded, but write to us anyway if something went wrong. We would rather refund a charge than keep an unhappy customer.
02How to ask
Email [email protected] from the address you used at checkout, or include the order number from your Polar receipt. One line saying you want a refund is enough. You do not have to explain why, though it helps us improve the app if you do.
We reply within two business days. Refunds are issued through Polar, our merchant of record, back to the payment method you used, including any tax you paid. Your bank or card company usually shows it within five to ten business days.
03What happens after a refund
A refunded subscription is cancelled and the app returns to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted: every project, avatar, and file stays on your PC, and avatars past the Free cap become view-only. You can subscribe again whenever you like.
04Cancelling is not the same as a refund
You can cancel your subscription at any time from Settings in the app or from Polar's customer portal. Cancelling stops the next charge, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. If you cancel and would also like the last charge refunded, the 14-day rules above apply.
Yearly plans are billed once per year. If you cancel a yearly plan part-way through, it runs until the end of the year you paid for and is not refunded in part, except in the cases listed above or where the law requires it.
05Polar's role
Polar Software, Inc. is the merchant of record for every purchase: it charges you, collects tax, sends your receipt, and processes every refund on our instruction. Polar may also refund an order on its own within 60 days of purchase, for example to resolve a dispute, and cancel the subscription with it. Polar's buyer terms apply to the checkout and billing.
If you are thinking about disputing a charge with your bank, please write to us first. A chargeback takes weeks to resolve and costs everyone more than a refund, which we can usually issue the same day.
06Your legal rights
Nothing on this page limits the rights you have under the consumer law of the country where you live. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days, and this policy is at least as generous. If you live in Japan, the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions applies to your purchase, and this policy is in addition to it.
