Layman’s Avatar Studio now has a blog, and you are reading its first post. LAS is a Windows app that gives you custom VRChat avatars without ever opening Unity: you bring the assets you bought on stores like Booth and Jinxxy, and LAS handles the technical setup that normally stands between you and wearing them.
Until now, everything we had to say lived on one landing page. That works for explaining what LAS is, but not for showing what it can do, and definitely not for keeping you posted as it grows. This blog is where that happens.
What to expect
Posts here will stay practical and stay about you, not about our internals:
- Feature showcases. When something new lands in LAS, we will show what you can do with it, with real captures from the app.
- Guides. Walkthroughs for common goals, like putting a new outfit on your base or recoloring what you already wear.
- News and releases. What changed, what got fixed, and what is coming next.
Every post is published in English and Japanese at the same time. The Japanese VRChat community is a huge part of why avatar culture is what it is, and the Booth ecosystem LAS is built around comes from there; treating Japanese readers as an afterthought was never on the table.
Where things stand
LAS is in closed beta right now. If you want in on day one, join the waitlist and you will get exactly one email when it opens. If you want to talk to us or watch development happen, the Discord server is open to everyone.
See you in the next post.
